PROJECTS

LIFE is committed to enriching the lives of young people, families and communities. We are engaged in activities that connects individuals and families to resources and opportunities.

Legacy: I AM, WHAT I SEE IN ME – “A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words” is sponsored by I AM Trenton and The Smith Family Foundation with support from RS Counseling & Wellness and Monumental Health NJ.

It is a youth development program designed to support youth ages 6-15 impacted by anxiety derived from Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Through weekly sessions and use of therapeutic photography, motivated young people from diverse backgrounds-across the city of Trenton will use photography for self-reflection and positive affirmations of resilience.

Program Goal: Help youth participants build effective communication skills and good relationships by learning how to express themselves, manage their emotions and cope with anxiety caused by Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).

Objectives:

  • Build self-confidence.
  • Reduce anxiety and stress.
  • Improve interpersonal relationships.
  • Improve mindfulness.
