Legacy Scholars Program
The Legacy Scholarship Program supports the academic aspirations of young students in Liberia, West Africa. The program provides access to local schools for students who live in under resourced communities. Our legacy students also receive wrap-around services to support their basic needs and reduce barriers that hinder academic progress.
Students are selected via a lottery system to participate in the program. The program began in 2019 with 5 students residing in the Pipeline Community of Paynesville, Liberia, etc.)
Goal: Provide a pathway for elementary/middle school students in Liberia to attend school and learn in safe, less overcrowded and nurturing environments.
Support may include the cost of tuition, fees, uniforms, education supplies, tutoring or youth development programming. Wrap around support may be provided on a need basis (i.e. food, transportation, housing, healthcare support, etc.).
Expectations of selected students and parents/guardians:
- Students Must have a very strong interest in attending school to achieve the education needed to prepare them to succeed.
- Parents/Guardians Must be willing to support the students desire to attend school and also provide periodic updates to LIFE.
